The Veg Lady

Welcome to The Veg Lady HQ!

If you're looking for delicious, fresh, organic veg then you've come to the right place!

Join us for our harvest celebration on Saturday 31st October!

Most of us know of 31st October as being Halloween. A day to dress up and eat sweets!

Traditionally, the 31st October marked ‘Samhain’, a Celtic festival marking the end of the Summer harvest season and the start of Winter.

In Chettle this year, we are gathering to celebrate and give thanks for the harvest by having a shared ‘potluck’ meal. Each household brings a dish or contribution to the feast. We load up our plates and spend the evening together chatting, playing games and being merry. In attendance will be residents, community members and many of our farm team who grow your delicious veg. It is an opportunity to celebrate all the food that we have grown this year and those who have kept us fed.

We would love to welcome our box scheme members to join us!

What is organic/agroecological?

‘Organic’ is a defined system of producing food that has strict rules and regulations that promotes health, fairness, ecology and care. By being certified as ‘Organic’ with the Soil Association we are able to prove that we are meeting the highest standards of vegetable growing whilst protecting the land, it's inhabitants and our soils for the next custodians.
